Project Pay-it-Forward is a 14-day campaign to provide 2,500 meals to our neighbors through Thelma’s Kitchen. From May 27 to June 10, we’re working to raise $15,000 to support our meal token program — and if we meet that goal, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City will contribute the remaining $10,000 needed to fully fund 2,500 meals for our neighbors and clients.
At Thelma’s Kitchen, we serve more than food. We serve dignity, care, and connection. Every person who comes to Reconciliation Services for support receives a token for a nourishing, high-quality meal in a space where they are welcomed and valued. For many in our community, this may be the only meal they eat that day.
Every $10 provides one meal.

In Support of Reconciliation Services
RS has served alongside our neighbors in the urban core of Kansas City, MO, for 30+ years. Desiring to accept the challenge to “love thy neighbor,” we approach each person with dignity and love, seeing them as made in the image of God. Our programs strategically address community needs for affordable food access, safe environments to gather to combat social isolation and build positive community connections, job training and educational support, and increased access to social and mental health services that lead to improved health and self-sufficiency.
