Project Pay-it-Forward began with a goal of providing 2,500 meals through Thelma's Kitchen's meal token program. Thanks to our generous community, we surpassed our $15,000 fundraising goal and unlocked a $10,000 challenge gift from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.
Because the need continues to grow, we're extending the campaign with a new goal of $30,000. If we reach it, Tom and Kathy Marincel will contribute an additional $5,000 challenge gift!
More than 3,400 meal tokens were redeemed at Thelma's Kitchen in 2025, and we're on track to every $10 provides one meal. Your support helps ensure that anyone who needs a meal can receive one.

In Support of Reconciliation Services
RS has served alongside our neighbors in the urban core of Kansas City, MO, for 30+ years. Desiring to accept the challenge to “love thy neighbor,” we approach each person with dignity and love, seeing them as made in the image of God. Our programs strategically address community needs for affordable food access, safe environments to gather to combat social isolation and build positive community connections, job training and educational support, and increased access to social and mental health services that lead to improved health and self-sufficiency.
